Pet Partner Handler Workshop
This 8 hour, one-day workshop is the first step towards becoming a Pet Partner Team. This class is for handlers only--we need to teach YOU communication and handling skills that you will need to become a safe and effective therapy team. You must pass the written test at the end of the class in order to move on to scheduling your Pet Partner Skills and Aptitude test.

Therapy Dog Skills Class
This 4-week positive-reinforcement based class covers all basic skills necessary for a dog / handler team to work safely and confidently in a variety of health care and educational settings, and is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED before your take your actual Pet Partner Skills / Aptitude test. Critical obedience / teamwork skills are reviewed - such as walking on a loose leash despite distractions, greeting people and other dogs politely, prompt recalls with distractions, and sitting politely for petting and grooming. Specific skills and behaviors necessary for effective therapy work are also covered in each class, as is familiarization with hospital equipment.
1) Completion of the Pet Partner Handler Workshop; and
2) At least two group obedience classes, or permission of instructor.

Therapy Dog Testing
Pet Partners registration testing will be offered on a regular basis. Testing space is limited. Priority is given to current Troupe members and class participants.
