Troupe Fundraiser at Heritage Fest June 28th

The PAWSitive Therapy Troupe members have been invited to use the Happy Dog Barkery entrance / store area to use as a fundraising location during Heritage Fest, the summer street festival in Downers Grove. The date is June 28, 2008, and the time is 11 AM-3 PM, Teams of 2-3 dogs will take rotating tours of 2 hours each. Please plan to come and support this fundraising effort if you can.

Troupe Quarterly Meeting and Cookout Party July 12

The summer quarterly meeting is scheduled for SATURDAY, July 12th at 2 PM at the Jankowski house. Spouses are invited as well. This meeting will be more of a social event than a meeting, although we will discuss limited business as well. Dinner will be pot-luck--Becky and Don will supply the meat and soft drinks, and everyone else can volunteer to bring a side dish or dessert. Dogs are invited if the weather looks dry!

The Troupe will be hoding a fundraiser at the Happy Dog Barkery on Saturday, Sept 6 from 10 AM-3 PM. Teams of 2-3 dogs each will rotate through in 2 hour shifts.

Maplebrook School in Naperville added

The PAWSitive Therapy Troupe has added Maplebrook School in Naperville to the READ visit calendar for the 2007-8 school year. Lynn Matyas is the school reading specialist, and the coordinator for this school. We will be reading to 1st and 2nd graders not reading at grade level. The school is located in south Naperville, off of Bailey Rd and 75th St, at 1630 Warbler Dr, Naperville, 60565.

Good Samaritan Hospital visits begin in Fall 2007

Regular visits to Good Samaritan Hospital's Geriatric Psych unit will begin in fall, 2007. The time will be 7-8 PM. Good Samaritan is located at 3800 Highland Ave in Downers Grove, 1 mile south of I-88 and one mile north of Odgen Ave. The unit is located in the North Pavilion building on the 3rd floor. From the hospital entrance, bear left and follow the road past the main hospital and up the hill, past the Critical Care Pavilion. The North Pavilion building is behing the Critical Care building. Park in the employee parking garage behind the hospital, and enter at door # 48.

Another Children's Advocacy Rooms program added

The PAWSitive Therapy Troupe dogs have been invited to the Children's Advocacy Rooms program located at the Domestic Violence Court Building in Chicago. The address is 555 W Harrison St, Chicago, IL 60607. Contact phone number is 312-325-9110 or 708-786-2413. Make sure that you call before you leave in the morning, to verify that there will be children there.

Meadowview School in Woodridge READ program

Meadowview School in Woodridge--directions and contact information:

Meadowview School is located at 2525 Mitchell Drive in Woodridge. From I-355, exit at 63rd St / Hobson Rd. Go right (west) to the stoplight at Woodridge Drive. Turn left onto Woodridge Dr and immediately take the next left at Mitchell Drive. Go to the first stop sign and turn right on Westmoreland. Go to the next stop sign and turn left onto Mitchell Drive. (Mitchell Dr is a very large U-shaped street). The school will be down a block on the right. You will enter at the stairs at the front of the swchool and ring the bell for admittance. Tell the office staff that you are there, and someone will escort you to the READ area.

1st Monday of each month:

Directions: From I-355 and Maple, go west about 1 mile. Turn right onto Kingston, which is a couple of blocks east of Rt 53. School is a few blocks morth on the right. Entry is in the back lot.

Tate Woods School, located at 1736 Middleton Ave, Lisle IL
